Red is Green/Good
Vancity Bike Share – a community experiment
Vancity has launched their bike share program by releasing 45 shiny red bikes into the community to promote a healthy and alternative way of transportation. Canada's largest credit union kicked-off the program on June 27th with an organic pancake breakfast for all in attendance. All recipients are encouraged to pass along their bikes to others wishing to join the program after using no more than 3 weeks. The bank is accepting necessary repairs from bikes dropped off into local branch offices and word seems to spreading rampantly for the initiative.
The corporate program definitely brings massive and positive brand recognition for the enterprise. The bike share will inevitably help the corporation win Canada's affection for a group that is dedicated to seeing its community and environment healthier.
