Penny's Does It Right With Site

Original Retailer rebuilds it's brand equity

JC Penny Corp is surprisingly leading the way with it's website. The company has successfully used their Web presence to not only make sales online, but get shoppers into their brick and mortar retail centers.



Six years ago it was believed that the company would no longer make it in the industry and customers viewed the traditional retail store as a stale and outdated brand. However, the corporation strategically has placed it's marketing efforts into tying it's stores with Web promotions to become one of the top 5 sites in terms of the number of paying customers it attracts, according to Nielsen//NetRatings.
